Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is made up of several techniques that assist and promote the body's natural healing mechanisms and improve quality of life. Each consultation is based around a thorough assessment of gait, demeanour and physical condition after taking a thorough history. This information allows Jess to locate problem areas and monitor progression of chronic conditions or injury.

Each animal is an individual, and so each treatment session is unique and tailored to each animal's personal needs.
All treatments are aimed at optimising the body's potential for healing by:
  • Restoring or improving function.
  • Maintaining joint mobility.
  • Improving, maintaining or rebuilding muscle mass.
  • Providing an alternative to traditional methods of pain control.
  • Reducing natural inflammatory responses.
  • Promoting nerve regeneration.

Rehabilitation programmes can be developed for you to work towards returning the animal to normal function or an improvement in quality of life with exercise programmes to be carried out in between sessions.

Physiotherapy isn't just for dogs and horses!  Please feel free to contact Jess regarding your pet or livestock.  Jess has extensive experience handling and managing many species during their rehabilitation from injury and illness.
